Braskem’s I’m GreenTM Bio-Based Material Used for Bottle Up Reusable Bottles
Bottle Up, a Netherlands-founded company striving to eliminate waste through durable, refillable water bottles, is using Braskem materials to help achieve their mission.

The reusable bottle solution utilizes Braskem’s I’m greenTM bio-based material. The material, which is made from responsibly sourced sugarcane, helps Bottle Up go beyond reducing waste. Sugarcane captures carbon from the atmosphere, helping Bottle Up to reduce the carbon footprint of their products while also reducing waste from single-use plastic bottles. Additionally, the material is 100% recyclable and requires less water to produce. www.braskem.com/utec

SABIC – Functional Forms’ LEXANTM CLINIWALLTM Brings Cheer into Dental X-Ray Room
SABIC Functional Forms collaborated with Total Technologies Group to create wall cladding in vibrant colors for an X-Ray room in the Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences-Lahore. The goal of the project was to create a more welcoming and livelier atmosphere to help enhance the experience of patients visiting the dentist.

LEXANTM CLINIWALLTM AC6202 sheet is a high hygienic and halogen free thermoplastic sheet. With anti-bacterial additives and a non-pours surface, the material is easy to clean with reduced bacterial growth, making it a well suited material for hygiene standards required at a dental office.

The design also included wall graphics that were digitally printed on LEXANTM EXTRITETM sheet. The material has a 1 side protective layer offering improved abrasion, chemical and UV resistance.

Swiss Design Studio Brings Visions to Life with PALBOARD
PALBOARD multilayer composite by Palram Americas, Inc. is used by Layercake GmbH, a design studio based in Luzern, Switzerland co-founded by brothers Deigo and Mario Rohner. With a background in industrial design, the brothers create larger-than-life installations using PALBOARD multilayer composite.

One installation is a robotic figure standing 9 feet, 10 inches (3 meters) for Zünd, a manufacturer of cutting systems and machines. The many individual pieces of the sculpture we cut with Zünd’s digital cutting systems then digitally printed.

The material qualities of PALBOARD make it well suited for large-scale installations as it is durable, strong, weather-resistant, water-resistant and recyclable at the end of the installation’s life. www.palram.com/us

Finger Lakes Extrusion Corporation Provides Flexible Tubing for Maple Syrup Production
Flexible Plastic Tubing by Finger Lakes Extrusion Corporation is used from start to finish in maple production by hobbyists and commercial maple farms alike. Tubing is used throughout the entire syrup production process, from collecting the sap from trees to processing it in to syrup.

PolyFLEXTM 50 is used by maple farmers to collect sap from trees. The material can withstand a range of temperatures, has high resistance to environmental stress-cracking and it’s translucent white color allows the flow of sap to be monitored. This tubing can been seen strung from maple tree to maple tree at commercial maple farms, in a network that allows the sap to flow downhill toward collection tanks or sugarhouses.

Vacuum pump systems to increase the yield of sap per tree are another place plastic tubing can be found on the farms.

ClearFLEXTM 70NP and BraidFLEXTM 70N are used in the processing and bottling portions of maple farms. Tubing moves and agitates sap throughout the processing system and transferers syrups into bottles.

The tubing used must comply with standards of food safety and offer clarity to monitor flow. An added benefit to the flexible tubing is that it is easy to install in curves and around corners, making the tubing easy to use in a wide range of operational set ups. https://www.flextubing.com/
