cast nylons’ commitment to reducing their carbon footprint
ast Nylons Ltd. has integrated environmental sustainability into its daily business practices. Over the last several years, Cast Nylons Ltd. has improved upon both safety and environmental sustainability by taking hundreds of actions toward environmental and safety improvements.
Our environmental mission statement reflects our goals and aspirations as a continued leader in the industry:

This program was established in 2012 with a comprehensive approach, focusing on several areas, including: recycling programs for both process waste as well as consumables, compliance with all environmental standards, reduction of utilities per pound of plastic produced, process waste reduction programs for yield improvement, as well as integrating environmentally friendly practices into our facilities management programs (such as LED lighting, high efficiency HVAC systems, etc.).
Each year we have continued to build upon the program with continual improvement initiatives. Over the past year, several improvements have also been implemented.
Cast Nylons Ltd. is currently using 100% green energy for electrical power generation as of May 2021. Cast Nylons signed a multi-year power generation contract to obtain electrical power for all its US facilities from renewable sources to reduce pollution and reduce our estimated yearly go-forward carbon footprint by over 75%.
Cast Nylons Ltd. also continued to replace fluorescent lighting with new LED lighting throughout its facilities to minimize electricity usage, saving approximately 300,000+ KWH yearly in electricity savings.
Cast Nylons Ltd. expanded upon its recycling efforts by qualifying one plant waste stream to be utilized as an input stream for injection molded plastics. Cast Nylons Ltd. is also currently in the process of converting another plant waste stream back into original raw materials (monomers and additives) through depolymerization with another recycler. These two previously mentioned are eliminating 25,000+ pounds per year going to landfills.
Cast Nylons Ltd. continued to educate employees on the environmental program through our monthly company safety meeting platform.
Cast Nylons Ltd. also began a raw material identification and replacement program to reduce the hazard level of materials used in the cast nylon process.
And finally, Cast Nylons Ltd. donated to 4 Ocean on behalf of all employees for ocean clean up initiatives, as well as to the Nature Conservancy for tree reforestation.
