olymer Industries has more than 45 years of experience in performance plastics manufacturing. Polymer Industries is proud the quality standards that formed the foundation of the company are still in place today.

As the business expanded to meet the needs of its customers, the product portfolio expanded also. Polymer Industries has one of the largest product offerings from a single manufacturer, including: Densetec® high density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP), high molecular weight polyethylene (HMW), low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and Polyslick® ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW-PE). The mechanical division produces a variety of Mechetec® high performance materials, acetals and extruded nylon.

Capabilities include polyolefin sheet extrusion, ram extrusion, mechanical sheet and rod extrusion, compression molding and fabrication. The company strives to continuously introduce innovative products to meet the needs of customers while staying competitive in an ever-changing marketplace.

Manufacturing facilities are located in Alabama and Washington with distribution centers in Utah and Illinois to better serve customers across the United States and throughout the world. The company also has a truck liner division located in Wisconsin.

Polymer Industries made the most recent addition to the product line with the introduction of Polyslick® Smooth/Smooth UHMW. This product is produced on their advanced EX-L compression molding press and has unmatched flatness in the industry. Polymer Industries’ years of experience in performance plastics allows the introduction of innovative products that are game changing. The Polyslick Smooth/ Smooth UHMW 1/4” flat sheet has exceeded expectations and been well received in the market. It easily vacuum seals to a router table and is the flattest sheet manufactured in the industry. Like other Polymer Industry products, the quality and performance are in a class alone.

Sustainability is not new for Polymer Industries; it is a core value, something the company has practiced for more than 45 years. They began recycling internally and, later, when their products reached end of life, those products were brought back from customers. Polymer Industries strives to provide a circular economy to do what is right for the environment. The ReCycle Buy Back program was created to assist customers with their own recycling efforts. Now, Polymer Industries is going a step further by taking back products that were not manufactured by them. They are serious about their commitment to recover, recycle and reuse plastic products to better care for the environment and reduce landfill waste. They have invested in products and practices to further substantiate their commitment to
sustainability.

Following their commitment to do what is right for the environment, in 2019 Polymer Industries announced their ability to produce products made from ocean-bound waste. This ocean-bound plastic comes from communities that lack established waste management systems and captures waste plastic at risk of polluting the waterways that lead to the ocean. By focusing on the future of the environment, Densetec® OceanBound, a product for essentially any application where HDPE is preferred, was created.

“We strive to recycle 100 percent of the products we manufacture at the end of life to do our part for the environment,” said Rohit Saigal, vice president of sales and marketing. “We want to be pioneers in the use of sustainable materials. It is imperative to our customers and to our industry that our products are in line with our mission to protect the environment for our future. We are helping to prevent plastic from reaching the ocean and doing our part to close the loop on post-consumer materials. Every pound of OceanBound is potential pollution turned into a recyclable material. We reclaimed our first million pounds of OceanBound waste in 2020 with a goal of 10 million pounds in the future.”
