The acquisition integrates Group M.A.M.’s metal sputtering technology into ORAFOL’s capabilities, allowing for the production of spectrally selective films that minimize heat transfer through glass surfaces. These films are designed to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions in buildings and vehicles by decreasing the cooling load on air conditioning systems.
Production will take place in ORAFOL’s new Hall 10 facility, which has been designed to achieve maximum coating widths and precision layering in a highly controlled clean room environment. The company will initially target the building and automotive sectors with both clear and tinted films for interior and exterior applications, with plans to expand into the greenhouse market. www.orafol.com
