Röchling Industrial’s Polystone HDPE Used in Pharmaceutical Pill Slats

Röchling Industrial’s Polystone® G (HDPE) Grey is being used in pill slats for pharmaceutical machinery, supporting high-speed tablet sorting, counting, and packaging operations.

Pill slats, also known as tablet slats, are precision-machined plates with cavities designed to hold individual pills as they move through automated packaging lines. Polystone HDPE is selected for this application due to its FDA compliance, low coefficient of friction and good dimensional stability, which help protect tablets from damage and ensure accuracy in counting and placement.

These components play a critical role in ensuring efficiency and product integrity in pharmaceutical production environments. www.roechling.com/us/industrial.

PLASKOLITE materials are seen in the acoustic wall and tunnel system in Czestochowa, Poland.

Plaskolite Sheets Used in Highway Sound Barrier and Tunnel in Poland
Plaskolite materials were recently used in the construction of an acoustic wall and tunnel system along a busy highway in Czestochowa, Poland, designed to reduce urban noise while maximizing natural light.

The project incorporated 9,000 square meters of TUFFAK polycarbonate sheets and 1,000 square meters of OPTIX PMMA sheets to form both transparent and opaque elements. The tunnel features a curved, transparent roof that allows daylight to illuminate the interior, reducing the need for artificial lighting. Opaque sections were positioned to provide effective noise reduction for surrounding residential areas.

The flexibility and durability of the materials made it possible to execute the complex arc design efficiently. This project highlights the role of performance plastics in sustainable infrastructure by combining acoustic functionality with architectural aesthetics. www.plaskolite.com.

Cope Plastics, Inc. Delivers Custom Solutions for Trailer Manufacturers

Foam PVC panels from Cope Plastics, Inc. used in livestock trailers.
Trailer manufacturers across industries, from livestock and grain haulers to luxury motorhomes, are working with Cope Plastics, Inc. to replace traditional materials that struggle under real-world use. Common challenges such as warped wood, corroded steel and slippery or unsanitary surfaces are being addressed with custom-machined plastics tailored to specific trailer applications.

In livestock trailers, Cope replaced warped plywood with solid foam PVC panels that resist moisture and are easy to sanitize. For horse trailers, the company supplied textured HDPE kick plates that absorb impact and are safe and easy to clean. Grain trailer manufacturers saw improved reliability with nylon hopper wheels that resist rust and eliminate flat spots.

Other applications include grooved UHMW sheets for trailer beds hauling precast concrete, diamond tread HDPE fenders for side-dump trailers, and cut-to-length acrylic rod for reducing waste in motorhome windows.

By offering materials like HDPE, UHMW, foam PVC and nylon, Cope Plastics is helping trailer OEMs improve performance, reduce maintenance and enhance safety across a variety of transport environments. www.copeplastics.com
