IAPD President
elcome to the 2025-2026 IAPD Membership Directory.
When I look through all the different types of companies that make up our membership, I think about the value that the association brings to each of you. The IAPD Board of Directors currently has a focus group studying membership trends and the value of IAPD, which was also the focus of our workshop at the recent Leadership Development Conference (LDC) in Dallas. While working on that, we thought it would be helpful to survey the current members of the board, committees, CIGs and task forces. We recently did this by asking a simple but powerful question:
Across all membership categories, your responses revealed consistent themes of connection, opportunity and growth.
Below, you’ll find a summary of what we heard, organized by member category and the key themes that emerged from each.
Distributors and Fabricators: Community, Intelligence and Credibility
Distributors are the link between suppliers and end users, and their feedback reflects the value of community and access to real-time market knowledge. Many shared that IAPD is their go-to source for industry information, networking opportunities and market intelligence.
“One of the most valuable things to me about being a member of IAPD is the sense of community and shared purpose. It’s an organization built around people who care about doing things the right way.”
Members appreciated IAPD’s role in providing “a great resource for selling industrial plastics,” offering “government affairs updates” and helping them “share best practices” with peers.
Distributors also value IAPD’s role in advocacy, workforce development and maintaining strong industry standards. Whether it’s access to online training, staying ahead of regulatory changes or being part of a collective voice for plastics, distributors see IAPD as a vital partner in their success.
“Market intelligence. Networking. Government affairs. It’s a unique combination of value we can’t get elsewhere.”
Manufacturers and Resin: Knowledge, Trends and Customer Access
For manufacturers, IAPD delivers insight into both current and future market conditions. Many mentioned the value of increased knowledge and awareness about product trends, regulatory changes and downstream needs.
“Being part of IAPD helps us identify new opportunities for our stock shapes and sheet products, particularly by staying in touch with the real needs of the marketplace.”
IAPD was often described as a “valuable resource for understanding the challenges and goals of distributors and fabricators.” Members appreciate the opportunity to gain direct insight into how their products are used and how they can support their customers more effectively.
“IAPD helps us stay connected to the full distribution chain. That perspective is critical for aligning our products and resources with what the market actually needs.”
Training and education were also cited as critical resources, with manufacturers praising IAPD’s efforts in developing programs that upskill teams and promote technical excellence.
Manufacturers’ Representatives: Relationships and Reach
“IAPD keeps me connected with customers and manufacturers alike. It’s the one place where we can meet face-to-face, build trust and discover new ways to collaborate.”
Members pointed to the networking opportunities IAPD provides as their most valued benefit. Others highlighted the importance of the annual convention, regional meetings and leadership events that help them deepen relationships in a personal and professional way.
Being part of IAPD allows manufacturers’ representatives to remain visible, stay informed and find new ways to bring value to both their principals and customers.
Associated Products and Services: Industry Access and Insight
IAPD volunteers participate in the IAPD Membership Model and Trends Workshop at the 2025 Leadership Development Conference on June 4, 2025 in Dallas, TX, USA.
“Contact with different manufacturers, distributors and fabricators is essential for us. It helps us refine our offerings, understand customer pain points and support the industry more effectively.”
IAPD offers these members the context they need to tailor their services to industry demands. It also provides a platform to introduce new technologies, share expertise and be part of a trusted association.
Common Themes From All Categories

- Personal and Professional Growth: Members across all categories view IAPD as being valuable in their personal development and career growth. The opportunity to learn from peers, engage in educational programs and take on leadership roles within the association was frequently mentioned as a defining benefit of membership.
Your Voice Shapes Our Future
The survey information was very helpful, and along with the feedback obtained at the recent LDC workshop, your IAPD leadership has a better understanding of the value we need to deliver.
As we move forward, your feedback helps us fine-tune our programs, grow our reach and better serve your needs. The passion and insight you bring to IAPD are what make this association much more than just a network.
To every member who took the time to share their thoughts: thank you! Your voice not only reinforces why IAPD matters, it helps us envision what it can become.
Let’s keep the conversation going.
