geared towards excellence
ith more than 45 years of experience in plastics manufacturing, Polymer Industries is proud that the quality standards they initially promised to their customers are still in place. As they grew their product portfolio, their goal was to manufacture quality products and, today, quality continues to be the cornerstone of the business.
Their capabilities include: polyolefin sheet extrusion, ram extrusion, mechanical sheet and rod extrusion, compression molding and fabrication. They strive to continuously introduce innovative products to meet the needs of customers while staying competitive in an ever-changing marketplace. Polymer Industries products include: Densetec® high density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP), high molecular weight polyethylene (HMW), low density polyethylene (LDPE) and Polyslick ® ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW-PE). Their mechanical division produces a variety of Mechetec® high performance materials, acetals and extruded nylon. They have one of the widest ranges of polyolefins and high-performance plastics available from a single manufacturer. At Polymer Industries, innovation is a core value and an integral part of their capabilities and products.
Manufacturing facilities are located in Alabama and Washington with distribution centers in Utah and Illinois to better serve customers across the United States and throughout the world.
Many customers have grown with Polymer Industries and the company has met those customers’ needs for decades. Others are fairly new to the company, but all understand the corporate motto: We are “Geared Towards Excellence.” Polymer Industris wants to earn your business by manufacturing and delivering products that not only meet their own standards, but also their customers’ standard of excellence. Simply put, they value their customers.
In 2020, Polymer Industries made the most recent addition to their product line with the introduction of Polyslick® Smooth/Smooth UHMW. This product is produced on their advanced EX-L compression molding press and has unmatched flatness in the industry. Their experience and dedication to excellence allows them to introduce innovative products that are game changing.
For more than 45 years, Polymer Industries has recycled the products they put into the environment. They began recycling internally and, later, when their products reached end of life, they brought them back from customers. They strive to provide a circular economy to do what is right for the environment. Their ReCycle Buy Back program was created to assist customers with their own recycling efforts. Now, Polymer Industries is going a step further, by taking back additional products, those that were not manufactured by them. They are serious about their commitment to recover, recycle and reuse plastic products to better care for the environment and reduce landfill waste. Sustainability is another one of the company’s core values and what they practice on a daily basis. They have invested in products and practices to further substantiate their commitment to sustainability.
In 2019, Polymer Industries announced their efforts to produce products made from ocean bound waste. This ocean bound plastic comes from communities that lack established waste management systems and captures waste plastic at risk of polluting the waterways that lead to the ocean. By focusing on the future of the environment, they created Densetec® OceanBound, a product for essentially any application where HDPE is preferred.
“We strive to recycle 100 percent of the products we manufacture at the end of life to do our part for the environment,” said Rohit Saigal, vice president of sales and marketing. “We want to be pioneers in the use of sustainable materials. It is imperative to our customers and to our industry that our products are in line with our mission, to protect the environment for our future. We are helping to prevent plastic from reaching the ocean and doing our part to close the loop on post-consumer materials. Every pound of OceanBound is potential pollution turned into a recyclable material. We are on track for reclaiming our first million pounds of OceanBound waste in 2020 with a goal of 10 million pounds in the future.”
