egener Welding, LLC is proud to introduce the newest sheet butt welding machine to their range of high-quality welding equipment. The MWD manual welding device is now available!

For smaller scale fabrication requiring sheet butt welding of PP, PE, PVDF, PVC and CPVC, the MWD butt welding machine is a perfect balance between versatility, high quality and economic value. The MWD is offered in working widths of 1 m (41″), 1.5 m (61″) and 2 m (80″) versions and has intuitive operating controls. Pneumatic table pressure eliminates the need for hand wheels or cranks while ensuring steady, evenly applied pressure during the welding process.

The robust welded steel frame is set on heavy duty caster wheels for easy maneuverability around the workshop with minimal footprint. Options for 90° corner welding with vacuum, miter welding profiles (45°, 60°, 90°) for dual wall materials and integrated air supply make the MWD an ideal solution for a wide variety of applications. While a standard 50 mm high element is sufficient for most general sheet butt welding needs, the MWD can be equipped with a 100 mm element for processing dual wall miter welds and foam materials which have more surface area to cover.

When the clamping beams are set in a low height position, the minimum cylinder capacity is reduced to 12″ diameter. A locking mechanism on the end can be easily lowered for removal of cylinders and closed boxes.

Raising and lowering the clamping beams and movement of the tables is performed via joystick style controls. A locking feature is manually engaged when the required table pressure is reached and then pressure is maintained via pneumatic cylinders. A welding pressure guide and convenient timer aid the operator in ensuring a strong weld is achieved.

Wegener has been a leading supplier of hot gas hand, extrusion and sheet butt welding equipment for decades. While the MWD is their newest model sheet butt welder, they offer a variety of butt welding machines to meet a range of fabrication needs. Their equipment range also includes pipe butt, socket and electrofusion machines, spark testers and custom solutions for specialty applications.
